Moonfern hollow

Growing up in the Appalachian mountains, I learned to listen to my ancestors and respect the natural world round me. My family taught me that everything in nature is speaking to you - all you must do is be still to hear it.

Specializing in polymer clay and preservation of natural specimens, my art is inspired by the spiritual and natural world around me. I am fascinated by the unknown, dark and spooky tales, and the magic of the forest.

Now, nestled in the foggy mountains of Port Angeles, I draw inspiration from the magical mystery of this beautiful coastal town.

The Pacific Northwest is home to many orb weavers, but these webs are spun by the cross orb weavers. These beautiful, shy creatures live a peaceful life in my cherry and apple orchard. Webs preserved are only taken after the artist has moved on to a new web. Many cultures have tied these creatures to stories and beliefs, seeing them as spiritual guides and protectors. Associating them to the power of manifestation, patience, and persistence, these quiet beings continue to hold mysteries for centuries.
