Annie Sumption ~ Mixed Media

Annie is a local girl, born and raised in Port Angeles. Her first memory of art is a drawer full of sketches, geometric drawings, color books and paint by numbers that she just couldn't get enough of. Then her grandfather built her a chalkboard, and she discovered colored chalk and never looked back. At the tender age of six she decided to draw her  dog in crayon. That pooch was so patient, while she was so painfully meticulous in what must have taken an hour. Yet, she was proud of her little drawing. Years later and now out of school she then tried oil pastels and oil painting under the watchful eye of a friend who tutored her for a few years. Bob Ross has had a big influence on her style. Later, volunteering at church for twelve years she taught mission crafts and painting  to all ages, from four to eighty. Now soon to retire, God willing, she  would love to teach and paint at her leisure. Her favorite student is one who thinks they have no talent, "I can't even draw a stick figure." You've heard it.
