Salt and Honey Press

My name is Zamora and I first started printmaking in high school when I took a class at North Seattle College. I loved the process of carving and the satisfaction of getting a perfect print. I slowly kept making prints throughout undergrad while I lived in Bellingham. I would draw and carve blocks on my friends' broken kitchen table and even designed a window print for my first apartment bedroom that didn’t have an actual window. During the pandemic I spent two years making a large print of all my roommates' hands having coffee together that each of us still have. While getting my Masters in Boston I didn't have time to make much art but since moving back to Washington, I've been able to get back to it and become more involved in the local art community. Art has helped me stay connected with people and places even when we’re far apart. I hope that my prints make people smile and feel connected to something too. I am inspired by small moments like washing the dishes, the PNW and classic folktales.
